The Martin Luther King March

Parfois il arrive qu on se trouve au bon endroit au bon moment. C est ce qui est arrivé ce Lundi 19 Janvier, veille de l investiture d Obama qui était un jour ferié en l honneur de Martin Luther King et ou avait lieu comme tous les ans une grande manifestation sur le theme de l integration des noirs americains. Cette année le contexte historique et le temps magnifique etaient bien sur des paramètres idéals et nous voila donc au milieu de cette manif metissée au T-shirt montrant les visages d Obama et de M.L. King traversant le quartier noir de San Antonio. Un vent d espoir fort soufflait ce jour la et les blacks avaient tous des sourrires j usqu aux oreilles. La communauté noire attendait Barack comme un vraie messie. La suite en images de la « MLK March 2009».


Sometimes you feel you re at the right place at the right time. That’s exactly what happened on that Monday January 19th, the day before Obama took power and which is a national holiday in US in honour of the assassination of Martin Luther King. Each year there is a march related to MLK for the rights of the minorities. Then we took this opportunity and found ourselves marching in the black neighbourhood of San Antonio with MLK Tshirts on in this pretty historical atmosphere. You could feel the “wind of change” or “wind of hope” blowing that day and black people were all smiling and enjoying the moment. The black community seemed to be waiting for Obama like a messiah.
